This Philips 989803139311 infant / child key is a perfect companion for HeartStart FRx AEDs. This key allows your AED to quickly switch from adult mode to pediatric mode without any additional changes to the AED or the electrode pads. It will adjust its protocols automatically to deliver a lower voltage shock when the key is inserted. It also has a diagram that sits over the standard adult diagram on the AED, showing you where to place the pads on a child instead. Using this key system reduces the cost of ownership of the AED, since normal pediatric pads will need to be replaced eventually even if they are never used. The key converts your AED to work on pediatric patients, so you only ever need to replace one pad set.
