The Panasonic NE-3280 Sonic Steamer is a great alternative to a countertop steamer. A stainless steel exterior and interior is paired with an integrated "Grab & Go" door handle for convenient use. A large, 1.6 cu. ft. capacity interior can accommodate two full-size 4" tall pans with covers, and comes complete with a removable center shelf.

Other features include 8 programmable memory pads, 3200W of power with 5 cooking levels, 3-stage cooking, and four magnetrons that power the top and bottom and energy feed. This model also boasts self-diagnostics, a cycle counter, digital display, and drop-down see-through door. A lit interior allows for users to monitor the cooking without opening the door.

Thanks to its high wattage and large capacity, this unit can hold up to 2 amber steamer pans (sold separately). It uses these pans to create a sealed chamber in which water cannot escape. Then, the high wattage of the microwave causes the inherent moisture in the food to turn to water vapor, allowing it to steam itself. Some recipes may require a small amount of water to be placed in the bottom of the pan.
