Featuring an incredible 1.5 gallon capacity, the Vitamix 5201 XL blender is the largest capacity countertop blender on the market. It includes 2 containers, (1) 1.5 gallon and (1) 64 oz., for batch size versatility and operates with a 4.2 hp motor for incredible power. Because of its large and robust design, it can blend up to (24) 8 oz. servings in just one batch. This makes it ideal for producing high-volume output and for reducing overall blend time for sauce, soup, nut butter, and other recipes.
This blender is both heavy-duty enough to handle tough product and gentle enough to handle delicate tomatoes and other fresh ingredients. Plus, product can be either hot or cold, so you don't have to worry about getting it to the right temperature prior to blending. With a pulse function and variable speed control, this particular blender is easy to use, enabling you to get the best blend for your dish.
For accommodating the kitchen workflow, the container lid includes a removable, top plug. During operation, simply unplug the stopper and add in the forgotten fruit, extra ice, or other ingredients as the rest is blending. This keeps the unit in operation while product is added, expediting the blending process and improving its efficiency. A 120V electrical connection is required for operation.

The Vitamix XL is an outstanding blender that does what it's supposed to do and has plenty of power. What sets this particular blender apart from the others is its large container capacity - 1.5 gallons, which is the largest of the Vitamix line. There are other options for large container sizes from other companies, but Vitamix sets the gold standard in quality and so if the container capacity is sufficient this will probably do the job. In terms of RPM, the smaller Vitamix blenders may be a little bit faster, which could mean better smooth results for blending things like nuts and seeds, but I blended sauces with almonds and the results were excellent. Also the power of this unit far exceeds any other Vitamix.
