Scratch and Dent Avantco Chef Series CAG-60-MG 60" Countertop Gas Griddle with Manual Controls - 150,000 BTU

I have been using this griddle 5 days a week for about 5 hours a day with no issues at all. For about a month now. It was easy to field convert it to lp gas . Keep in mind when looking at the dimensions when they measure from front to back of the unit they don’t include the 2 inch gas pipe sticking out the back. You’ll also add the regulator which is another inch so if your limited in space like I was you have have to buy some iron pipe elbows to divert the gas. I’m in a food trailer so my griddle table barley fit the unit . After all is said and done I love it,

I had this one on my food truck for a while now and it often catches fire. There's no protective metal sheet between the pan and the flame tube so when your scrap foods get a little high due to busy cooking, the food catches fire. I ended up putting an end to this unit today (8/22/2023) after three incident and go with a different unit. The risk is too high vs benefits. If you constantly clearing the pan underneath the unit then you might be okay. For our purpose, we clean it by the end of each shift and if we forgot to clear the fried rice stuff out then sometimes it's too late. I'm sure it works well for other folks, but I'll have to give it 1 star for our use.

The pilot light keep on turning off and it causing the grill to go off. very frustrating!

The surface is not flat. I've used it for a little bit now and I can see waves in the 'flat' top. I don't know if the surface mill they used that day was skipping or jumping a little, but when I run a scrapper across the top it, you can see the ridges in the metal. The slots for waste get smaller as it goes to the collection tray. Someone who designed it, never had to use one before. It is not really functional unless its all liquid you are getting rid of. The unit works, yes, just not happy with it. I will not buy again.

Works great ,it’s heavy duty.Just wish there was a way to clean underneath the trays, but I’ve had mine for three years uses it every day Monday through Friday all day it works good.

excellent product

Spend the money and get one with thermostatic controls, this gets the job done but you better have a way to read the surface temp so you can get it dialed in to your desired cooking temperature. Even once you do get it dialed in though it seems it will wander +/- 10 to 50 degrees. Otherwise great value for price.

Avantco Chef Series CAG-36-MG 36" Countertop Gas Griddle with Manual Controls - 90,000 BTU - This is ideal griddle and well fit in my small kitchen.

We have used this 24" countertop griddle for 6 months now, and I am pretty happy with it. It heats pretty quickly and cooks our quesadillas and grilled cheese perfectly. People love them! My only complaints are that the pilot light is a little hard to reach and one of my staff lost the little metal rod the first day, but some long matches get the job done. My other complaint is that it is hard to get the surface clean and shiny ever since the first use. I've tried several products, but would love a recommendation on how to make this look cleaner. I recommend this product; good price for a good product.

Good grill very good for any kitchen

I revriced my 24 inch charboiler,36 inch stove and 24 inch thermostatic gas griddle but i can’t get the griddle pilot to light and there is no customer service number or email to contact till to Get help

It is a thick and sturdy griddle. I had to replace all thermocouples within 2 weeks of purchase. Webstaurant did credit me $ towards the repairs. Thermocouple were damaged during production, they were crimped and crushed by the appearance, pliers. Technician called the Manufacture directly and they refused to compensate anything . Would not recommend.

This is the second time we purchased this. We use it in our food trucks about 5 hours 6 days a week. The front label has peeled a little but overall we are very happy with this griddle.

The griddle can’t adjust the temperature—it stays at the highest setting, so all my steaks are overcooked and burned!

Had to throw away after a month of use. Very uneven heat. Would either get so hot would burn everything and very hard to regulate the temperature

Love the amount of cooking surface. We are able to cook an entire breakfast for all of our hunters at our lodge at the same time. Very versatile as well. It serves most of our cooking needs

Save your money and get a more expensive one I’ve had this for a few months and the plastic in the front melted off the first day no control over temperature saving to buy a new unit now

I have had this flat grill for about 2 years now and it has worked perfectly. Not a leak or anything wrong with it. Got it installed in my food truck and gets right to work with all the burners getting the griddle hot in about 10 mins or less.

Bad equipment and arrived damaged!! I am really upset. Go with a different option!

Nice griddle works well for our Food truck.

Do not buy. Worked two times for me then it stopped. I had a professional replace new parts then it broke again.

We purchased this grill a few months ago! It heats well and cooks our items consistently, but it’s very very hard to clean the grill surface. We’ve tried multiple grill cleaning items but to no avail.
