Have been using these cartridges for about 2 years. We never thought we needed one because we have municipal water. The cartridges last us anywhere from 6-9 months depending on volume and have a monitoring sticker in the box that changes color over time. When it turns red, you change the cartridge. Since adding this system to our ice machine, the ice quality has improved considerably and the maintenance on our machine has been reduced. If you don't have a filter on your ice machine, I recommend adding one. It was a good investment.

Our Manitowoc ice machine uses two different filters. We used to get them from a local dealer. I never realize Webstaurant Store carried these items. Price is much lower.
