Readily available high quality bags is a benefit of a name brand vacuum like Hoover. I have pushed the limit of these bags with my commercial floor care business. The biggest benefit is the reduced odor due to the filtration. I don't like that dusty smell when I fire up a vacuum and tackle a mess. Customers don't like that smell either. So, the extra cost for this noticeably thicker and more durable bag is worth it. Also, if you've had a bag bust after removing it from the cleaner - that's a feat your unlikely to accomplish with this bag. It's thick and tough. However, it does have a somewhat awkward fit in the machine - requiring a little extra tucking and some careful placement when putting the cover back on the vacuum. Overall, a high quality factory part to keep the machine operating at peak efficiency.
