Keep your facility ready for any emergency with this HeartSine 450-BAC-US-08 Samaritan PAD 450P semi-automatic AED.

Sudden cardiac arrest is a deadly condition that affects over 350,000 people in the United States each year, and when it happens immediate attention is needed for the best chance of survival. Emergency responders may not be able to reach the victim before permanent damage or even death occurs, but an AED (automated external defibrillator) like this device can allow someone without any medical training to deliver potentially life-saving treatment until help arrives. Designed to keep operation as simple as possible, this AED helps guide you through each step of a rescue and comes with smart design features to save time when setting up and make rescues easier.

  • UL Listed, US & Canada

    UL Listed, US & Canada

This product has been certified by the Underwriters Laboratories (UL) to meet applicable safety standards required for use in the United States and Canada.

Includes Adult Electrode Pads

It comes with a pair of adult electrode pads with clear illustrations showing you where to place them on the patient's chest. The pads are stored pre-connected to the AED to let you respond faster and are intended for adult use only, but this model can also use pediatric pads (sold separately). If you do choose to install pediatric pads, the unit will adjust the prompts to fit the new pad style.

Semi-Automatic Design with CPR Advisor

Once the pads are placed on the patient's body, this semi-automatic AED will prompt you to deliver the shock at the appropriate time using a simple button. During the rescue, voice and diagram instructions will help you administer treatment confidently until help arrives, and a metronome guides you through CPR when prompted. This AED also boasts a CPR rate advisor feature, which will use voice prompts and a gauge on the AED to tell you if you need to push faster, push slower, and when you are maintaining a good speed. Up to 90 minutes of rescue data is automatically recorded and can be downloaded using a USB cable when time allows.

Compact Design

This AED is also designed to be smaller than competitors, weighing only 2.4 lb. with the Pad-Pak installed, and a footprint 56% smaller than the largest AED on the market.

Regular Self-Checks

To keep your AED ready to use at all times, this unit proactively completes a weekly self-check so that you can be alerted of potential issues promptly and fix them.

1 Expiration Date for Pads and Electrodes

Unlike other AEDs which require separate replacement of the pads and batteries, this unit makes the process easy by packaging the battery and the electrode pads together in a convenient Pad-Pak that lasts 4 years. When you need to replace a pack, you'll also start fresh with a new battery, giving you peace of mind that you'll be able to respond to a cardiac emergency.

Accessories Included

The AED comes with an 8-year warranty on the device, and a 4-year warranty on the battery and electrode Pad-Pak. The Pad-Pak has a 4-year standby life. It has an ingress protection rating of 56.

Kit Includes:
- 4-year adult electrode and battery Pad-Pak
- Soft case
- Setup and maintenance DVD
- HeartSine Saver EVO software
- CPR responder pack with 1 mask, 4 nitrile gloves, emergency shears, medical prep razor, dry towel, antiseptic towelette, equipment towelette, and biohazard bag
- "AED Equipped" window / wall decal
- AED check tag

Frequently Asked Questions From Customers

Are there any regulations for owning an AED that I should be aware of?
Your local EMS and state laws will have specific requirements for AED ownership and maintenance, which may affect training, registration, placement, and physician oversight requirements. All 50 states have laws that are designed to protect people using an AED with good intentions.

HeartSine SAM 450P CPR Rate Advisor Overview

In this video, you will get an overview of the HeartSine SAM 450P CPR Rate Advisor.

Every year, 7 million people worldwide suffer sudden cardiac arrest. It can happen to anyone, anywhere, at any time. 84% of sudden cardiac arrest events occur outside a healthcare setting. Only 5-10% of victims currently survive. While some cardiac events are treatable with effective cardio-pulmonary-resuscitation or CPR alone, others require a combination of effective CPR and the use of an automated external defibrillator, or AED, to deliver a life-saving shock within the first few minutes of cardiac arrest. In both cases, effective CPR contributes to an increase of survival rates of up to 75%, HeartSine's CPR rate advisor, featured on certain models of the Samaratin PAD automated external defibrillators, provides real-time visible and audible feedback to the rescuer on the rate of CPR compressions during a sudden cardiac arrest.

CPR is crucial to deliver oxygenated blood to the body's vital organs. CPR quality encompasses a variety of CPR parameters. Improvements in any of these parameters contribute to overall improvement in CPR quality. CPR Rate Advisor helps ensure the rescuer performs CPR at an effective rate and at an optimal CPR fraction in line with the American Heart Association and European Resuscitation Council guidelines. With its revolutionary technology, HeartSine's CPR Rate Advisor uses only the defibrillator electrodes to detect changes in patient impedance, rather than accelerometers or pucks, commonly used in other AED solutions that provide some CPR feedback.

The changes in impedance are related to the rate of compressions. When a patient collapses and a rescuer performs CPR, the compressions applied by the rescuer cause the patient's chest to change shape. CPR Rate Advisor captures this change in an ICG waveform, which it uses to count the number of compressions a rescuer administers. When the rescuer compresses the patient's chest, the rate is reflected on the ICG waveform. The greater the rate, the greater the number of deflections. CPR Rate Advisor measures the change in impedance and uses this to determine the appropriate feedback to the rescuer, advising them of good speed, or to push faster, or slower. This real-time feedback is very important, as rescuer fatigue may set in after as little as one minute, resulting in slower compression rates.

CPR fraction, the percentage of time that CPR was performed, is also an important parameter for CPR compressions. To help optimize CPR fraction, the SAM 450P uses the electrode pads to prompt the rescuer to begin CPR, and will continue to remind the rescuer to begin CPR when it detects that compressions have stalled. With its real-time visible and audible feedback to a rescuer, HearSine's CPR Rate Advisor helps improve the quality of CPR compressions by improving compliance with CPR rate guidelines, and optimizing CPR fraction by continually prompting the user to begin CPR.

CPR Rate Advisor is integrated within industry-leading HeartSine defibrillators, so a shock can be delivered if needed. Effective CPR provided alone, or in conjunction with a life-saving shock, can dramatically increase the chance of survival. As the Samaratin PAD is a defibrillator specifically designed for public access, all HeartSine defibrillators can be used with minimal training in any environment. Integrated CPR rate advisor helps improve compliance with CPR rate and CPR fraction guidelines, while instilling more confidence in the rescuer, both of which help improve survival rates.
