Galaxy 4 oz. Black Popcorn Machine / Popper - 120V

I just received this product and am quite impressed with both the build and execution. I do have on suggestion for the manufacturer. There is a sticker on the base plate with the instruction to remove before using. Yet, they used a nearly impossible to remove adhesive, which took nearly an hour to remove. Also, the glass door hinge was tough to insert, as I did not want to break the glass to get it to seat. Outside of those to challenges, the machine is clearly well designed and executerd, and looks absolutely beautiful in my kitchen. Yes, I purchased it for home use, to mitigate the challenges of avoiding burnt kernels when cooking stovetop popcorn. Needless to say, I am more than pleased with this purchase and would definitely recommend it to those looking for a home popcorn machine.

This popcorn machine looks great, but does not make great popcorn. I've tried everything, but most of the popcorn comes out soggy and not fully popped. I've followed all the directions and tricks. I've researched hours online & tried everything. I've tried about 5 different brands of popcorn (all fresh/new), but all turn out about the same. Maybe the machine is underpowered, I don't know. I've had popcorn from a similar type (different brand) 8oz machine and it tasted great, but not this one. The same 4oz of popcorn made in this machine makes about HALF the volume of popcorn that another machine makes. I would not recommend this popcorn popper. Popcorn comes out chewy and stale tasting. Tried everything customer service said to try and a couple of things. Let the popper warm up for at least 5 min before adding the kernels, trade more oil, less oil, cooking spray and even no oil. Tried different types of popcorn different types of oil. Loose kernels in bulk, packaged kernels and even stored some in the freezer like my searching suggested Every time the popcorn comes out stale and chewy. I am not a popcorn expert but my opinion is the 470w kettle does not get hot enough. I see other models start at 850w and get larger. They probably get hotter and dissipate the moisture that is making my popcorn tough, chewy and stale, but just my opinion. Customer service was good.
