So fantastic idea and does get rain off but be aware that it is not fitted so some will want to add belt or something as even the small is really wide and the wind and rain can come up underneath. The problem is not the waterproofness of since walking in the rain for 5miles it did hold up and keep clothing dry, but the pockets tore down so maybe not attached well or too much stress on them to have a phone in them? The zipper and snaps are great not sure if the plastic seams will hold up though
