American Standard RU101 Details
For safe, reliable temperature control, this American Standard Flash rough-in shower valve is a great choice. This valve boasts a durable cast DZR brass construction. With 1/2" universal inlets and outlets, this valve is compatible with a variety of pipe styles. It combines a ceramic disc mixing valve and ceramic balancing spool in one convenient cartridge, allowing for quick installation and simple maintenance. The ceramic disc mixing valve ensures smooth handle operation and drip-free performance, while the ceramic balancing spool maintains a constant output temperature in response to changes in the hot and cold supply pressure.
This valve is easy to install, and hot and cold can be quickly reversed for added convenience. Its flat back allows for flush mounting against a cross brace, while the plaster guard protects the valve and acts as a guide during installation. The plaster guard can also serve as a mounting support for thin-wall installations. This unit includes a stainless steel retaining ring to secure the test cap and cartridge in place, eliminating the need for screws. The flats make it easy to loosen the ring for quick insertion or removal of the test cap or cartridge. Better yet, the flush plug allows the valve body to be tested and flushed without the presence of the valve cartridge. It can be tested with air at 200 PSI or water at 300 PSI.
