For the last 11 years, I've always tried to run my bar/cafe as eco-consciously as possible. That has always meant paper cups over plastic. For many years it was the Solo Symphony's, as they're made from 95% recycled paper. Switched to the NoTree brand for 3-4 years, which are more expensive, but made entirely from ultra-renewable bamboo! They're great, but the price point drags them down. Enter EcoChoice: great price-point and similar ecological footprint. Whereas these are made from paper (so trees), they're PLA bioplastic-coated and free from PFOAs/BPA. They're also compostable (so biodegradable)! You can't beat the price-to-performance on these. It is critical, with any compostable products, that you store them properly. They cannot be stored outside in the heat and most definitely not in direct sunlight. The lids will melt into flat discs and the cup liner can become less effective.
