Able to handle an incredible temperature range of -100 to 500 degrees Fahrenheit or -73 to 260 degrees Celsius, this thermocouple will be the most versatile and useful thermometer in your kitchen. Not only can it measure scalding temperatures of boiling liquids, but it can also read the temperature of products in your deep freezer.
The thermocouple boasts incredible accuracy of + / - 0.9 degrees Fahrenheit (+ / - 0.5 degrees Celsius) when in ambient temperatures from 68 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit (20 to 30 degrees Celsius). Thanks to its sensitive DuraNeedle probe, it's perfect for use with thick, dense meats, though versatile enough to work well with thinner solids, semi-solid food products, and liquids. In the case of probe replacement, the unit does not require re-calibration, meaning that you can continue using it right after inserting a new probe. This is due to the Total System Accuracy used for the initial calibration, so you can be sure that each use yields an accurate reading.
Boasting a large LCD screen with 0.1 degree resolution for maximum visibility, the unit is both easy to use and easy to read. It even includes the convenient Wrap&Stow design, which enables the cable and probe to be safely wrapped around the handheld unit. What is the best method for replacing the probe on this unit?
If the probe needs to be replaced, the unit can be sent back to factory and the new probe will be calibrated to the unit. Or, it can be replaced in the field, but it would not at that point be calibrated to the unit. It will have normal +/- accuracy of 1 degree Fahrenheit depending on the probe, which is very close to the 0.9 degree Fahrenheit from the factory.
