I bought this stain pre-treater to use in conjunction with my upholstery shampooer, but it can be used as a solo product as well as a stain remover; I tried it as a stain remover on a sofa; it lightened the whole area of treatment, however, this would not be noticeable if you're using it as a pretreatment before shampooing/extracting a large area, which is really its primary purpose; just something to be aware of, but not necessarily a negative. The scent is very slight, almost unnoticeable, which I appreciate.
