No. It is strongly recommended to allow this unit to sit in its normal operating position for at least 24 hours before plugging it in for use. We are very happy with this refrigerator so far. We use it to store our iced teas, housemade nut milks and lemonade. The nut milks are very sensitive to changes in temperature but we have never had any issues with that in this fridge. It maintains temperature perfectly, looks good and is easy to clean by removing the doors. We have had it for about 6 months now and are very happy with it.
