Job Summary

 The CMMS/Inventory Specialist will utilize the companies Computerized Maintenance Management System for the purpose of asset tracking, inventory control and data collection to be used by the management team for planning and continual improvement of the Facilities Maintenance Department. This position ensures availability of necessary materials to support day-to-day operations, projects, and preventative maintenance schedules of the Department.  

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining CMMS for the respective site, developing into the site expert of the system.  
  • Load and update inventory information, asset related records and documents. 
  • Maintain accurate database and prepare reports as requested by Leadership. 
  • Manage the ordering process of all parts in CMMS by evaluating usage & stock levels, generating Purchase Orders(PO) and contacting vendors to place orders. 
  • Receive incoming materials, to include visual inspection of the materials, verification of shipping documentation, placing items in appropriate storage area, and updating CMMS. Appropriately addresses any issues during this process to include researching paperwork and making necessary contacts. 
  • Collaboratively work with Maintenance team on non-stock items, including researching competitive pricing, affirming timelines, ordering, receiving, and distribution as appropriate. 
  • Maintain parts in CMMS to include tracking, reporting monthly and maintaining accurate inventory levels of parts and ERSA materials; perform physical inventories as necessary. 
  • Assist with development of resource plans and scheduling for shutdowns and regular maintenance work, both proactive and reactive, to minimize equipment downtime. 
  • Stage required parts from corrective work orders for the completion of asset repairs. 
  • Safely operate power equipment, including pallet riders, hand trucks and forklifts throughout the facility. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 12 hours/day.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
  • Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
  • Requires the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 75lbs.

Qualifications

Experience

  • Experience in inventory management and use of a CMMS (Computerize Maintenance Management System) tool strongly preferred. 
  • Previous experience in a Maintenance field preferred but not required. 

Education

  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
